The tumble-up format — a bedside water carafe paired with a tumbler that sits inverted over the neck — was a Victorian staple, and Baccarat made some of the finest. This is the carafe and underplate from one of those sets, in Rose Tiente glass with the all-over Rosaces Multiples pinwheel swirl pattern. The tumbler is not present. What you have is still a striking pair — the globe body and long ribbed neck photograph beautifully, and both pieces glow amber-orange under UV.

Condition: Very Good No cracks. Flea bites on the bottom rim of the underplate, consistent with age. Carafe is clean and intact. Both pieces display well.
