A Fresh Start at House of Goods

A Fresh Start at House of Goods

If you’ve been to James and Jess’ House of Goods over the past year and a half, you’ve probably met my amazing husband, James. He’s been the heart and soul of the shop, holding down the fort while I’ve been a little less visible.

It’s not that I’ve been hiding—life has just been beautifully busy. With our youngest, Mitchell, now officially on the move and discovering the art of running and getting into everything, my hands have been full in the best possible way. Add in two boys who have already flown the nest, a sophomore and senior still at home, and the general whirlwind of family life, and it’s been nothing short of a blessed chaos.

But now that the new year is here, I’m excited to refocus on the shop. There’s so much to do! The dock is full of treasures waiting to be listed on eBay and Etsy or moved to the shop floor. I’m ready to dive back in and tackle those projects, making room for even more finds that I know you’ll love.

When I’m not at the shop, I’ve been rediscovering my creative side through my Etsy stores, Garlic Pop and Gracie & Clyde Designs. After all, creativity has always been my way of grounding myself amidst the hustle and bustle. There’s something so fulfilling about working on designs and bringing ideas to life, and I’m thrilled to share that side of myself again.

Of course, the shop itself is due for a refresh—a little rearranging and reimagining to breathe new life into the space. You all know how much we love to change things up, and from your feedback, it seems like you do too. A new layout means new treasures to discover, and we’re excited to make that happen for you.

To all our customers and friends, thank you for being part of this journey with us. The shop isn’t just a place where antiques are bought and sold—it’s a community, and your support means the world to us. Whether you’re stopping by to browse, share a story, or hunt for that perfect piece, we’re so grateful to have you as part of the House of Goods family.

Here’s to a new year, new energy, and new treasures. See you in the shop soon!

~Jess
